San Lorenzo Elementary School, located just 4 miles south of the Mimbres Culture Heritage Site, has the distinction of being our junior "Site Stewards." The various grade levels do projects with us on site or we visit the classrooms. Our belief is that children hold the success of preserving our past and by involving them, we are actively educating them on how to preserve history. We invite other schools with different age groups to join us.

Gloria White Teen, News, Today (TNT) Mimbres Messenger Feb 2025 by B Gloria White
Hello and welcome back to T,N,T. What I have for you today is…
How MCHS changed my life.
I remember going to the Mimbres Culture Heritage Site, AKA MCHS, since forever ago, and I always loved the lessons on the Mimbres People. Most of the kids found everything boring besides the activities, but not me. I found it quite interesting, since I was a kid I loved learning about almost everything and this place was and still is one of my favorite places to learn. I remember being around six years old, and in first grade. My class took a field-trip to MCHS, and I fell in love with it. I fell in love with not only the activities or everything I would learn about there, but the community. The people who worked there still work there today. When I was 13 I got my first job, and it was at the MCHS.
I'm 15 now, and I still work there. It may not be a full time job, or working every day, but I still consider it as my job. Every time I am there, I feel awesome, I feel like how I feel when I write. Everything I could ever want is there, I mean the people are nice, MCHS has so many lessons to learn. Since I moved here to Mimbres I have gone to MCHS, and I still have a lot to learn. I respect everyone who has guided me through my journey of becoming a young adult.
On the other hand, I have an announcement to make. This year of 2025 will be my stepping stones to becoming the best version of myself, and I encourage you to do so too, if you haven’t already. I want this year to be the best year of my teen-hood, and to make it the best, I will try my hardest to be a better person. Not only for myself but for others as well, during this period of time, I have set some goals for myself. These include, Getting my work done before it is due, paying more attention to the things that matter, strengthening my bond with family, and last but certainly not least being better to myself.
