October 3, 2026 was a wonderful experience, celebrating the Blessing of the Land by the Chihene Nde Nation of New Mexico. High on the hills overlooking the Mimbres Valley approximately fifty Apaches and friends gathered to Bless the sixty two acres of homeland recently rematriated to this Indigenous Tribe. No photographs were taken during the sacred ceremony, but this photo is of the fellowship that followed, IFWEF is proud of the partnership relations we have with the Chihene Nde Nation of New Mexico. Their stories are an integral part of the life in this valley.

October 8 - 10 The 23rd Biennial Mogollon Archaeology Conference sponsored by the Department of Anthropology and the Anthropology GSO of New Mexico State University will be held at the NMSU Corbett Center, October 8-10, 2026. The sessions will contain presentations by leading archaeologists from Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas.
