Nancy Coinman Grant Awards
The Grant County Archaeological Society (GCAS) is inviting applications for the GCAS/Nancy Coinman Grant Awards for 2021.
Two awards, each in the amount of $1000, will be offered to PhD candidates or Master’s-level students.
Please print or forward this email and its two attachments to any interested students. The application deadline for 2021 is to be determined.
Previous Coinman recipients are ineligible to apply for one grant cycle. All other applications will be considered although the GCAS encourages applications by anthropology or archaeology students (Master’s degree students and PhD candidates) enrolled at an accredited university; upon projects related to topics unique to the Mimbres-Mogollon region or the greater Southwest region (the US Southwest and Northwest Mexico); and which indicate financial need or in-kind support.
Details, forms, and contact info are on the GCAS website at www.gcasnm.org/news/grant-awards.html.
Interested students must complete the Candidate Application Form in either hard copy (available on our website at https://www.gcasnm.org/news/coinman-stdmailapp.html) or email format (available on our website at https://www.gcasnm.org/news/coinman-emailapp.html), using additional pages as needed.
Please also advise students to include with the completed application two brief faculty or scholastic reference letters/letters of support. Hard copy application materials may be mailed to: Grant County Archaeological Society, Attn: Nancy Coinman Grant Awards, PO Box 1713, Silver City, NM 88062.
Alternatively, if submitting the application by email, candidates may scan the reference letters and email them and the completed email form of the application to: webmaster@gcasnm.org.
Very truly yours, Kyle Meredith, President, Grant County Archaeological Society/ms
